Kohima, Jan. 12 (EMN): The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (Sayo) has filed a first information report (FIR) against a group of trekkers suspected to be behind the outbreak of the Dzükou Valley fire on December 29.
Sources informed Eastern Mirror that the FIR was lodged at Khuzama police station under Kohima district and provided video clips of trekkers trespassing Dzükou Valley.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that scores of personnel from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Nagaland Police and Army personnel had left Dzükou base camp on Tuesday after successfully dousing the inferno which raged for 13 days and reduced a vast area near the valley to ashes.
However, Sayo informed this newspaper that their volunteers and some personnel from Kohima Forest Division (KFD) are still camping in Dzükou to keep a close vigil of the vicinity.
