DYO felicitates winners of ASA Wrestling Meet

Kohima, Feb.21 (EMN): The winners of the recently concluded 48th Angami Sports Association (ASA) Wrestling Meet including Menuosetuo Yiese (champion), Kezhaseluo-o Pienyu (first runner-up) and Seyiekhrietuo Yiese (second runner-up) were felicitated at Dapfütsumia indoor stadium in Kohima village on Friday evening.
All the three wrestlers belong to Dapfütsumia (D) Khel of Kohima village.
Speaking at the felicitation programme of the 48th ASA Wrestling Meet 2020 winners, organised by Dapfütsumia Youth Organisation (DYO), Kelhouphilie Kire, chairman of Dapfütsumia Council congratulated the wrestlers for bringing laurels and pride to the village and the clan and termed it as a ‘ big achievement ‘ on their part.
He attributed the accomplishment of the three sportsmen as a ‘blessing’ and asked them to lead by example. The chairman reminded them to develop good personalities and take care of their health as true sportsmen as a lot of junior wrestlers will be looking upon them as examples.
Former wrestlers from D Khel, GBs, village elders and others, while speaking on the occasion urged them to maintain constant practice, be humble, look to God and give their best in the forthcoming 27th Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) championship.
Menuostuo, Kezhaseluo-o, Seyiekhrietuo and Keneisetuo Kire from Dapfütsumia Khel along with 14 other wrestlers will represent Angami in the coveted 27th Nagaland Wrestling Association championship.
