Mokokchung, March 4: Jenangsanger Nangnong agri link road in Ungma village under Mokokchung district was inaugurated today by the Deputy Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Imtikumzuk and dedicated by Rev. Dr. Noklen, pastor of Ungma Baptist Church.
The newly inaugurated agri link road, which covers a distance of around four kilometres, was constructed under the initiation of the Deputy Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Imtikumzuk to provide easy connectivity for the farmers and also to boost the local economy of the village.
Speaking at the programme, the Deputy Speaker NLA expressed that the road was much needed for the villagers because the village is located near Mokokchung town. He also said to export agri & allied finished products to towns has become very important for the sustainability of the village economy.
Asserting that the traditional paddy field cultivation practice is rapidly declining, Imtikumzuk also advised the farmers to focus their attention towards cultivating cash crops which will enhance their economy.
He also shared his visions towards extending more roads in near future to enable the villagers have better connectivity and easy access to supply their farm produce. In this regard, he called upon the people to lend their cooperation and support to achieve those dreams.
The Deputy Speaker also stressed on the development of Mokokchung town. He stated that if Mokokchung town develops, then the nearby villages will development automatically. He, therefore, encouraged the village councils and people of Ungma to work for the development of Mokokchung town in order to benefits both the parties.
