Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): Darogapathar Village Council (DVC), in support of to the Darogapathar Youth Organisation (DYO), conducted a surprise checking against illegal activities such as sale of liquor, lottery, gambling and other illegal consumable products/ substances within the village jurisdiction on September 27, wherein the culprits were made to close their shops with immediate effect and warned not to repeat within the village jurisdiction.
A DVC press release jointly issued by its chairman, K Ado Bizo, secretary I Akum Jamir, and head GB Yashimeren Ao have expressed gratitude to the Chekiye Youth Front (CYF) for joining the team to eradicate the illegal sale of IMFL and other illegal activities along the commercial areas of the two villages.
DVC informed all individuals that the property where such illegal activities are being carried out would be sealed and taken over by the village council. All landlords are also informed to check such illegal activities being conducted in their premises.
The council further expressed gratitude to DYO for their relentless effort to safeguard and provide a secure environment within the village. It further directed DYO to continue their vigilance on the sale of any illegal product/ substance within the village jurisdiction.
