Durbar Hall In Raj Bhavan to be renamed Dr Imkongliba Hall
On Republic Day, Governor RN Ravi and CM Neiphiu Rio will be unveiling a plaque rechristening the Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan to ‘Dr T Imkongliba Hall.’ The Durbar Hall is a facility at the Raj Bhavan, constructed in 1988 during the tenure of KV Krishna Rao as governor.
This was made known by the government today through is publicity wing, the department of information and public relations (DIPR)
Talking to Eastern Mirror, the son of late Imkongliba Ao, Tali Longkumer, expressed gratitude that the work and sacrifice of his late father live to this day.
“If I think about all the sacrifices he made for the Nagas, I think renaming the Durbar hall to Imkongliba Hall is deserving,” Longkumer asserted. He said the entire family is indebted to the present government as the recognition was indeed an ‘honour’ to his late father.
Further, as part of the celebrations at the Raj Bhavan, the governor will be felicitating 21 Naga personalities, and present the Governor’s Award in various categories at the event.
