DSOs of Peren, Dimapur inform on sepaktakraw tournament

DIMAPUR — The District Sports Officer (DSO) of Peren has informed all schools in the Peren and Chümoukedima districts that the Department of Youth Resources and Sports will hold a district-level tournament-cum-selection for boys and girls under 14 years old in the discipline of sepaktakraw (regu event) on May 10 and 11, respectively.

According to an update, interested schools should confirm their participation by May 8 at the following phone numbers: 7005278134 (for Chümoukedima district) and 6909199200 (for Peren district).

DSO Dimapur, in collaboration with the relevant District Sports Association, will also conduct a district-level Under-14 sepaktakraw (regu event) ‘Catch Them Young’’ tournament on May 10 starting at 10 am at Xelhozhe Local Ground, Niuland.

An update stated that players born on or after May 31, 2010, are eligible to participate in the tournament. The players must present their original Aadhaar card for age verification, along with a student ID card duly signed by the head of the institution.

Winners will receive a cash award and certificate. Selected players will represent Niuland district in the state-level Under-14 tournament at IG Stadium, Kohima.

It is stated that all interested players from schools, clubs, or organisations can participate in the tournament. Registration should be completed on or before May 6 at the office of the DSO Dimapur or by contacting the phone number 8974725561.
