DIMAPUR — Law enforcement authorities in Kiphire have destroyed seized narcotic drugs worth INR 3 lakh at Deluxe Point in Kiphire town on September 30.
The narcotics were seized through the coordinated efforts of the Kiphire 11 wards GBs (Gaon Burahs) and others. The operation involved thorough checks at multiple locations within Kiphire town leading to the recovery of illegal substances, stated a DIPR report.
It stated that the seized items were incinerated in the presence of the 11 ward GBs, representatives from the Kiphire Women Organisation, AST and TWA, presidents of tribal unions, Kiphire Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTCCI), and the public.
Meanwhile, it informed that the NGOs in Kiphire have issued a stern warning, stating that strict actions would be taken against any individuals involved in the sale of such illegal drugs. They further emphasised that individuals found guilty would face expulsion from the district for a period of up to ten years. The seized items included 30 packets of ganja and 60 packets of Sunflower drugs.
