Dimapur, November 1: In view of the Special Summary Revision of electoral roll for municipal/town councils, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor requested the Ward and Colony chairmen to take the draft publication of e-roll seriously by making necessary correction within stipulated time.
A meeting with all the Wards/Colonies chairmen and political parties was held in the DC’s conference hall, Kohima, on October 31 where the draft publication of electoral roll was distributed to all the polling station of 19 Wards under municipal area.
The DC has sought cooperation from all the wards and political parties to maintain peace and tranquility for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming municipal elections. The DC also reminded the wards and colonies for submission of sketch map on house numbering pattern to streamline the address and locations in order to identify the house number in a systematic pattern for permanent record.
Rovilatuo further requested the wards and colonies to initiate taking up of cleanliness measures in their own respective areas in view of the forthcoming Hornbill Festival 2016. He also assured assistance of the KMC and district administration.The DC also requested all Wards/Colonies representatives to sensitise the citizen in their respective areas for maximum use of LED bulb particularly the overnight lighting bulbs. He has sought combined efforts of all the wards leaders to save energy consumption to ensure continuous power supply especially during the festive season.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi also sought cooperation from all the wards/colonies chairmen and political parties for the successful implementation of the Special Summary Revision. She requested every household to install LED bulbs with the advent of festive season.
