Dr. Yhome inaugurates critical diagnostic equipment in Tuensang

DIMAPUR — Advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, inaugurated the critical diagnostic equipment at District Hospital, Tuensang, on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Yhome thanked the National Thermal Power Corporation for their valuable contribution to the people of Nagaland in the field of generation of electricity, climate change and the health sector. He also gave a brief historical background of Tuensang district and added that the diagnostic centre is much needed for the people of the district.

A DIPR report stated that the implementation of critical diagnostic equipment was funded by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) through Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) with a project cost of INR 80.94 lakh.

The function was chaired by the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, while the welcome address was delivered by the chief medical officer (CMO) of Tuensang, Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, and the introductory note was delivered by I Changsang, undersecretary of IDAN.

Short speeches were also delivered by Karunakar Das, chief general manager of NTPC, Bongaigaon; Dr. Kika Longkumer, joint director of Health and Family Welfare; Sunny Borgohian, director of DRR and Capacity Building Doctors for You. 

A special presentation was made by the Mother’s Welfare Society and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Puse Liegise, medical superintendent of District Hospital, Tuensang.

The report stated that the dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Achu Chang, executive secretary of CBLT. It added that doctors and nurses from the District Hospital, representatives from the district administration and civil society organisations attended the programme.

Dr. Yhome undertakes tour of Noklak

Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome along with officials from School Education department undertook a two-day tour to Noklak district on August 31 and September 1.

Dr. Yhome inspected the GHSS Noklak on Friday and stressed the need to expedite the process of shifting GHSS Noklak to the Model School building, which has been lying unoccupied although the building was completed in 2014.

He also verified Model School building and visited the office building of SDEO Noklak and Kasturba Gandhi Balaka Vidyalaya, Noklak.

Interacting with the district administration, civil societies, Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) and School Education department at Noklak Tourist Lodge on August 31, Dr. Yhome assured to study the matter for the creation of a new EBRC in Thonoknyu.

He called upon the district administration, civil societies and public and the department to collectively work for the enhancement of quality education. He informed that the department is all set to frame a comprehensive formula to streamline the education system in the state.

He also challenged the Khiamniungan community to collectively help build a prosperous Noklak district. Dr. Yhome further called upon the people to repose their trust in government schools as they possess qualified teachers besides offering free textbooks, uniforms and midday meal facilities.

The deputy commissioner of Noklak, Arikumba, joint director of School Education department, Avelu Ruho, and deputy project director of NECTAR were also present at the interactive session.
