Mokokchung, April 29 (EMN): The installation and consecration service of the new principal of Clark Theological College (CTC), Rev. Dr. A Temjen Jamir was held at the college’s multi-purpose hall in Mokokchung district on April 27.

ABAM executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener administered the installation ceremony and offered prayer of consecration in the presence of members of the CTC board of governors led by its chairman, pastors from neighbouring churches, well-wishers and the Clark community.

In his short speech, Rev. Dr. A Temjen Jamir expressed gratitude to the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), CTC board of governors, and the Clark community for reposing their trust on him to shoulder the responsibility as the principal of Clark Theological College.

The new principal has also sought cooperation and teamwork in the ministry of training young people who are called out for the great harvest.

Short speeches were also delivered by Dr. Sunep Imchen, chairman of CTC board of governors, Geihwang Konyak, president of CTCSU, and Rev. Temshi, pastor of Changtongya Town Baptist Church.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Nungshi Tzüdir.

Rev. Dr. Temjen Jamir hails from Akhoya village and is a member of Changtongya Town Baptist Church. Before joining Clark Theological College in 1994 as lecturer in the department of Communication, he served as associate pastor (youth) from 1987-1990 at Kohima Ao Baptist Church.

Before becoming the 5th principal of the Clark Theological College, Jamir served the institution as dean of Practical Ministry, dean of Postgraduate Studies, and academic dean of the college. He has written books such as ‘Popularisation of folk music in Christian worship’ (2001/2018) and ‘Folk dance as ecumenical communication: a theological vision and mission’ (2020). He has also edited and co-edited several valuable titles and also contributed essays and articles in academic journals.

“The Clark community has a great expectation and wishes our dear principal God’s abundant blessing as he takes up this new responsibility,” an official communique from CTC stated.
