Dimapur, Feb. 15 (EMN): A meeting for the organising committee of the forthcoming Dr. T. Ao Northeast Football Championships was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
According to an update from the DIPR, the tournament will take place at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima from April 7 and all the states of the North eastern region will be invited to participate.
The event is being co-sponsored by the North East Council, Government of India and will be conducted under the technical supervision of the All India Football Federation and the Nagaland Football Association.
This will be the second time that Nagaland will be hosting the prestigious championships as the first ever edition in memory of the legendary Dr. T Ao was also hosted by Nagaland.
The organising committee has begun preparations for the tournament under the chairmanship of the chief minister and the Advisor for Youth Affairs & Sports, Er. Zale Neikha.
