Dimapur, Oct. 27 (EMN): Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA and DAN chairman of Dr. Shurhozelie led NPF party, affirmed that Dr. Shurhozelie led regional NPF party would prevail.

Addressing the general conference of Western Chakhesang Mother’s Association (WCMA) at Agri Expo on the theme ‘Be inspired for change,’ Nienu said that the current political turmoil was a result of current Lok Sabha MP and former chief minister, Niephiu Rio, opting for “New Delhi assignment.”

He said that Rio, after vacating the CM seat, first projected MLA Noke to take his place, failing which he projected MLA Kaito again thereby fuelling political instability in the State. However, with the Election Commission of India’s verdict, Azo pointed out that the matter would be laid to rest soon and asked the people of Nagaland not to be confused.

Pondering on how Naga society today seems to know only how to criticise and forgotten how to appreciate, Azo said he was ready to appreciate even TR Zeliang led unconstitutional government if they can expedite investigation into the various scams like the Public Distribution System (PDS), fuel adulteration and Pillai case by inviting the CBI.

Also expressing concern over the growing disunity among the Nagas, Azo encouraged womenfolk to lead as role models and agents of change by citing the example of queen Esther from the Bible. He also pointed out that women’s role towards a healthy society was of paramount importance. ‘A God fearing, loving and morally upright women keep the society, family and community intact,’ he stated.

President of Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA), Zaposhelu Venuh, encouraged the mothers’ to take the onus of teaching children their own local dialects stating, ‘language as an important tool in bringing people together and uniting people as it is also the identity of a community.’

President of Western Chakhesang Hoho, Vekhosayi Nyekha, in his greetings highlighted on the need to re-inculcate the values passed down on by the forefathers.

The welcome address was delivered by Bino Kenye, president Western Chakhesang Mothers’ Association. The inaugural session was followed by two seminars with Muzivolu T Therieh, Additional District Sessions Judge, and Sano Vamuzo, former chairperson of Women Commission, as resource persons.
