Dr. Nicky urges students to go for skill based education

Speaking as the chief guest at the 18th general conference of Tenyimi Students’ Union, Mokokchung, at the Town Hall, Dr Nicky lamented that today we have many graduates seeking government jobs while government has limited rooms for employment. Therefore he encourage the youths to become masters in their own subject and to venture out on their own with new ideas as educated youths.Stating on the theme of the conference “Prioritizing Priorities,” he said student should infuse their priorities during their student’s life and strive to be the best among the best. Dr Nicky also said that student should plan their whole semester in accordance to the profession they choose/aspire to be and should be committed toward their goal to achieve it. He also added that as a student one should know how to manage time accordingly in regard of their studies, sports and recreation activities. He also urged the male gender to do better in their studies since females were doing better. Guest of honour SP (NPTO) Mokokchung J H Nakhro also spoke on the event. He said “Education impact the progress of the society and investment in education leads to development.” He also encouraged the students to understand what is urgent and what is important in their life. Earlier, short speeches were delivered by TUM president David Pochury, TSUM president Avi Roque Chase and Techie Letro. While invocation and benediction were offered by Pastor TCM Atho and Zhalie Neinu, respectively. Special songs were presented by ICIT unit, NU Lumami and a trio by Vesekho Khusoh and friends. According to the statistical secretary report, Tenyimi Students’ Union Mokokchung has 237 members from five units-NU, CTC, GNM, ICIT and FAC.
