DIMAPUR — The former Governor of Goa, Maharastra and Odisha, Dr. SC Jamir, on Friday inaugurated Jenangsanger Telongjem building at Darogapathar, Dimapur.
Speaking at the inauguration programmee, Jamir said that the Jenangsanger putu (period/ era) should possess a more comprehensive vision and elaborated that their choice to reside in various regions was not due to an inability to live in their villages but rather a deliberate effort to thrive and progress alongside others in this rapidly changing world.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Jamir has encouraged continuing expanding their knowledge and adapt with the world's progress. He added failing to keep pace with others' achievements would lead to a regrettable situation. He also urged the gathering to do away with the past mentality in order to move forward and stated that the building is a symbol of unity.
He further encouraged the gathering to embrace the virtuous path established by their ancestors. He also urged everyone to walk the path of truth with a single heart and shared vision adding that this is not an era for conflicts over power struggles but rather an opportunity to guide people with peace and harmony.
Delivering a short speech, Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, has termed as a historic day for Ungma people as the inauguration programme was held in the presence of both Dr. SC Jamir and SI Jamir. He encouraged everyone to reflect upon the importance of the day.
Longkumer added that their ancestors had vigorously championed unity for the benefit of today's generation and stressed the importance of following in their footsteps of unity. He further wished that the building would be a blessing for every people from Ungma village.
The building was constructed at a cost of around INR 1.34 crore, which began in 2017.
The welcome addressed was delivered by Temsüzenba Longkumer, while short speech was delivered by executive member of Ungma Senso Telongjem Dimapur, Alem Jamir, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Alemtoshi Imsong.
