Dr Disrespect says he will sue Twitch over his controversial ban
Dr Disrespect says that he knows why Twitch banned him.
Dimapur, August 24 (EMN): Dr Disrespect has finally revealed on stream that he knows why he was banned from Twitch and said that he is suing the platform for the same.
During a YouTube stream session on August 23, Dr Disrespect broke his silence on the issue and revealed that he had known the reason behind his ban for months.

It may be mentioned that a year ago, Dr Disrespect was permanently banned by Twitch out of nowhere for no apparent reason. The two-time streaming legend’s mysterious ban shocked the whole streaming community and fans demanded an explanation for his ban. However, Twitch didn’t provide any explanation outside of stating that Doc had “acted in violation” of Community Guidelines.
Dr Disrespect had been one of the most followed personalities on Twitch and is still one of the biggest gaming streamers around with more than 3 million subscribers on YouTube.
Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban is perhaps one of the most well-kept secrets in the world of content creation and yesterday’s revelation that he is suing the platform could mean that Twitch might finally reveal why it banned him in the first place.
He began by saying how his Twitch ban had affected him from a “financial” and “networking” standpoint and stated that it was nothing short of a “roller coaster of emotions.”
He revealed that he had known about the reason for his ban for months but chose to remain silent for obvious legal reasons.
On his stream, Dr Disrespect said, “There’s a reason why I don’t talk about it, I can’t talk about this kind of stuff. A lot of people ask ‘Do you know the reason?’ Yeah, I do know the reason why now. I’ve known for months now.“
He then went on to say that he would be suing Twitch for the damages caused due to his controversial ban.
“I’ll just say this right now champs — there’s a reason why we’re suing the f**k out of them, ok? I don’t know how else to put it, the amount of damages, and you just don’t… nah,” quipped Dr Disrespect.
Given that Twitch is owned by Amazon, it is going to be an expensive affair for Dr Disrespect and his team of lawyers. However, Twitch has lost a number of lawsuits in the past and it would not be far-fetched to speculate Dr Disrespect winning the lawsuit.
Whatever the outcome, the real question still remains unanswered. Are we ever going to find out the reason behind Doc’s ban? Probably not. Now that we have heard Doc’s side of the story, we will update you once Twitch gives out an official response.
