Dr. Chumben urges supporters to uphold unity

Wokha, July 2 (EMN): Well-wishers and supporters of Dr. Chumben Murry, advisor of Law and Justice and chairman of Wokha DPDB, of Wokha village organised a thanksgiving-cum-picnic programme at Hammock Resort, Wokha.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Murry advocated democratic process with peace in the 38 Wokha assembly constituency and assured to lead the people in a positive, progressive and inclusive manner. He called upon his supporters to shun differences and division through politics in the village but maintain peace and unity.

Describing Wokha village as one of the premier villages in the district, he urged the residents to set a good example. Dr. Murry informed that he left the medical profession and joined politics in order to work for the welfare of the people.

Dr. Murry further called upon his supporters not to be carried away by false propagandas and informed that the 21 NPF legislators, who joined the NDPP would fight the next state election under the leadership of the Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio.

Around a thousand of supporters from Wokha village attended the thanksgiving programme. Short speeches were delivered by leaders from the youth, women, party workers and supporters of Dr. Murry and expressed unflinching support to his leadership. They have also expressed gratitude to Neiphiu Rio for reposing faith on their leader.

The programme was chaired by Mhonthung Erui, while the welcome address was delivered by Yiben Tungoe and Nongothung Kikon, associate pastor of Wokha Village Baptist Church (WVBC), said the invocation. Rev. O Thungben Kikon, pastor of WVBC, said a prayer of blessings and concluded with a benediction said by Nzanbeni Murry, CNY director of WVBC.
