DPS sensitised on measles and rubella vaccination

Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): Delhi Public School (DPS) Dimapur in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland organised a sensitisation program on ‘Measles and Rubella Vaccination’ on Sat. Sep 8.
The program was an initiative of the Govt. of India with UNICEF, WHO, National Health Mission and Lions Club International as alliance partners in order to eliminate measles and control Rubella from India by the year 2020.

Parents, teachers and staff of DPS Dimapur attended the program. Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Antoly Swu was the resource person who briefed the gathering about the nature of the virus, the mortality and morbidity rate related with the disease and stressed on the need for every child from 9 months – 15 years to be compulsorily vaccinated/re-vaccinated.

The programme was followed by an interactive session where queries and doubts raised by the participants were also addressed.
