DIMAPUR — DC Dimapur Dr. Tinojongshi Chang reviewed the recurring flood problem in Dimapur on Tuesday and highlighted the various measures that have been initiated to address the issue.

Speaking at the monthly meeting of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) at the DC conference hall, he informed that show cause notices had been issued to the encroachers identified during a survey conducted by the authorities.

According to a DIPR report, the meeting was presided over by Moatoshi Longkumer, Advisor, Labour, Employment and Skill Development, and Excise, and chairman of DPDB Dimapur, who expressed his happiness with the progress and hoped that the process would be completed before the winter months.

During the meeting, Chang requested that all members cooperate with the district administration for the district’s overall development and thanked the various departments for the successful execution of the NSDMA’s mock drill on November 3.

The chief medical officer (CMO) provided an overview of the dengue situation in Dimapur and informed about the procurement and arrival of critical machines needed to combat the disease. She also thanked DPDB members for donating blood and organising a blood donation camp.

The administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the details of the CCTV installations in Dimapur city.

The board discussed the removal of obsolete cables and wires to beautify the city, approved the constitution of the verification committee for LADP 2023-2024, and agreed to recommend and forward to the relevant authority the proposal for grant-in-aid for S Apostolic Mission Residential School, Zakiesato Colony, Dimapur.

The Board agreed to recommend and forward to the department of Higher Education the proposal for issuing NOC to the institute, as well as the proposals for registration of the following societies: Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland, Midland, Dimapur Motor Sports Club (DMSC), Thahekhu Village, Eco Warriors Nagaland, Duncan Bosti, and Nagaland School Alliance, Kevijau colony.

Peren: The monthly DBDB Peren meeting for the month of November was held on Tuesday at the DC conference hall in Peren, presided over by DC and vice chairman of DPDB Peren, Vineet Kumar.

Following a brief review of the previous meeting’s decision, the board deliberated and approved the construction of a waiting shed at Ngaulong village under Tening sub-division and the proposal for the construction of a patient’s guest house at District Hospital Peren.

Keyiranding Hegui, ADC Peren and convener of the Inter Departmental Sports Meet 2023, highlighted the committee’s progress and informed that the tournament is proposed to be held from November 28 to 30 exclusively for employees of all government departments based or posted in Peren district.

He stated that, in addition to badminton, the committee decided to include carrom, arm wrestling, chess, table tennis, and a penalty shoot-out this year. Hegui also sought participation from all departments to ensure the tournament’s success.

Later, PowerPoint presentations on departmental activities were given by PWD (Roads and Bridges) and the Water Resources department. The DC also informed the members that the next DPDB meeting and picnic would be held on December 6 at the Tepuiki river and invited them to attend.

Bhandari: The monthly meeting of the Bhandari Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) was held on Wednesday at the ADC conference hall at Bhandari, presided over by MLA and chairman SDPDB Bhandari Achumbemo Kikon.

Kikon, speaking on the occasion, requested full cooperation from the members and urged them to be sincere, dedicated, and diligent in their assigned duties and responsibilities.

The agenda discussed during the meeting was that the SDPDB meeting will be held on the eighth of every month and that meeting booklets will be published quarterly.

During the meeting, the members deliberated and agreed to recommend to the government the inclusion of three villages under Bhandari administrative jurisdiction, as well as the construction of a SDPDB meeting hall.
