DIMAPUR — The Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) convened its monthly meeting at the DC conference hall on Thursday, presided over by vice chairman and DC Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting included the discussion of the registration of the Agro Technology Resources Centre and Services Society, Wokha, as well as the installation of the golden jubilee monolith of district formation and the review of aspirational villages.
The board discussed the registration of the society and recommended it to the state government for approval.
In his opening remarks, chairman DPDB and Advisor, Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, urged the society to collaborate with the Agriculture and Allied department to improve and elevate the district’s economic status. He also urged the Lotha community to get involved in the jubilee celebrations.
Y Orenbomo Lotha, district planning officer (DPO) Wokha, highlighted on the occasion the various activities and programmes planned for the district formation golden jubilee celebration on December 21.
The departments of Forest and Environment, Youth Resources and Sports, Sericulture, and Economics and Statistics, as well as the District Rural Development Agency and assistant registrar of cooperative societies, highlighted their activities and work programmes earmarked for implementation at the aspirational villages.
MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe also attended the meeting.
Mokokchung: On November 16, the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DBDP) also had its monthly meeting at the DC conference hall under the chairmanship of Tongpang Ozukum, chairman, Mokokchung DBDP, and Advisor, Water Resources.
Ozukum acknowledged and thanked K Temjen Jamir, proprietor of Tir Yimyim, on behalf of all DBDP members for donating 500 copies of Mokokchung Vision 2040 documentation booklets as a token to commemorate 20 years of Tir Yimyim.
The principal of ITI Mokokchung talked in his report about the district skill committee’s job mela, which is scheduled to take place in January 2024, while an update on the coaching class for aspiring NPSC and NSSB candidates from the district was shared by the management committee members.
Also, the executive engineer, PWD (NH), and district fishery officer presented PowerPoint presentations on departmental activities.
The board also approved and forwarded the application for the registration of a new society, ‘Mokokchung Lotha Hoho’, as well as the upgrade of the Government Primary School Moalenden to Government Middle School Moalenden.
Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC Mokokchung, briefed the members on the upcoming Mokokchung District Inter-Departmental Sports Meet, which will take place from November 23 to 25.
The chairman also directed the department of Urban Development and PWD (R&B) to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the upcoming DPDB meeting.
