Diphu, August 31 (EMN): A one-day workshop on ‘journalism’ in collaboration with Assam Sport’s Journalist Association (ASJA) was organised by District Press Club of Karbi Anglong (DPCKA) at Agriculture Farmer’s Growth Centre conference hall, Diphu today with Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Executive Member i/c Sericulture, Raju Tisso as the chief guest.
In his speech Tisso said journalists play a vital role in the society, all information are acquire from them and they are the fourth pillar of the Indian constitution. The programme started with introduction of guests let by its General Secretary Denialson Bey and presented the guests with Karbi Poho (scarf).Journalist Association Federation of Assam (JAFA) State President, Longsing Teron in his short speech spoke about the sustainable journalism in the present context and the importance of ethics in journalism. On behalf of the senior journalist of Karbi Anglong, Probitro Bora also said that, there should be a boundary for journalist and no compromise should be made with the career of journalist’.
The resource persons for the workshop were President of Sports Journalist Federation of India Subodh Malls Barua who talked about ‘Sports Journalism and Journalism’, Retd Programme head PPC North-East Rupendra Narayan Bora where he also talked on the topic of ‘ TV Journalism ‘, Vice president, Assam Sport’s Journalism Assam, Jugal Lochan Das on Sports Journalism and Samgul H. Patgiri, a renowned photo journalist where he talked on the topic of ‘photo journalism as a career. Patgiri said that one photography tell everything to the viewer or news paper readers. He said it was tough to get a unique photography and one must work hard in order to get sequence photography and the sequence of photography has lots of impact to the society.
More than fifty journalists from print media and electronic media from the two district of West Karbi Anglong and Karbi Anglong attended in the programme. At the end of the programme certificate of participation was distributed to every journalists.
