Directorate of School Education announces Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun admission for the January 2027 term.

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has notified the admission process for boys and girls to Class 8 at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, for the January 2027 term, with the entrance examination scheduled for June 7.
According to the notification, candidates should be in the age bracket of 11 and half years to 13 years as on January 1, 2027, meaning they should not be born earlier than January 2, 2014 and not later than July 1, 2015.
Candidates should either be studying in Class 7 or should have passed Class 7 from any recognised school at the time of admission to the RIMC on January 1, 2027.
The written examination will consist of three papers: Mathematics, General Knowledge and English. The Mathematics, General Knowledge and English papers will be conducted between 9:30 am and 11 am, 12 noon -1 pm, and 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm respectively on June 7.

The date for the interview will be intimated at a later date only for those candidates who secure 50% marks in all the papers in the written exam.
Prospectus cum application form and a booklet of old question papers can be obtained by making an online payment on the RIMC website rimc.edu.in or via speed post by forwarding a self-addressed slip typed or written clearly in capital letters with Pin Code and contact number, along with an account payee bank demand draft of INR 600 for general candidates and INR 555 for SC/ST candidates.
The demand draft should be made in favour of “The Commandant, RIMC Fund”, Drawee Branch, HDFC Bank, Ballupur Chowk, Dehradun, (Bank Code -1399), Uttarakhand.
Applications on the prescribed form must be accompanied by a birth certificate issued by the municipal corporation, domicile certificate, ST/SC certificate, and an original certificate from the principal of the current school with an attested photograph stating the date of birth and the class in which the candidate is currently studying.
Additionally, a photocopy of the Aadhar card (both sides) and two passport-size photographs should be submitted to the Directorate of School Education by April 5, 2026.
