Dimapur, Sep. 21 (EMN): NSCN (IM) chairman Q Tuccu reportedly said that the reconciliation process with the 7 NNPGs is an “ongoing process and no one (group) has closed the doors for each other.” He added that it is the responsibility of the tribal units to speak with the members of different factions and facilitate the process as it is not appropriate for the groups to invite each other at this stage.
Tuccu said this during a meeting with the delegates of Sumi frontal organisations at Camp Hebron on September 19 to discuss the latest development regarding the protracted Indo-Naga political dialogue and the framework agreement, informed an update from former president of SKK (All Sumi Students’ Union) Hukiye Tissca which was based on the statement of the participants.
Stating that the NSCN (IM) would proceed (peace talk) as per the principles laid down in the framework agreement with the Government of India (GoI), he said the Indian government, if mature enough, should resolve the issue through mutual respect and as per the unique history of the Nagas. He also expressed hope that the peace talks will come to a logical conclusion.
He reportedly told the delegates that NSCN, as a people’s government, would listen to the voice and views of the people, adding that Naga people’s mandate and opinion would be taken before any final accord is signed.
