Dimapur, March 30 (EMN):

The Nagaland government has been mobilising maximum efforts to instate measures against the Covid-19 pandemic. One of these measures is to restrict the movement of the people from venturing out to buy essential commodities.

To fill the gap, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has given permission to business groups Freshzola, Two Wheeler Taxi Association of Dimapur, and the Ahibo LLP to make home delivery of essential goods to citizens.

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, one of Ahibo LLP’s representatives said they deliver essential commodities door-to-door within the DMC jurisdiction. This is being done with proper safety and precautionary measures in accordance with the guidelines of the Medical department.

The source said it uses only electric two-wheelers, which is also environment friendly, for delivery tasks.

According to the agency, their delivery time starts from 8 am and till 8 pm and in medical emergencies, they try to deliver even after 8 pm.

The source informed that customers order the requirements which the agency delivers the next day as the goods must have to be bought within the time the government had set for purchasing essential commodities.

According to the agent, they charge INR 50 within the DMC jurisdiction. The fee also varies according to the distance they have to cover to make the delivery.

The agency is said to receive around 40 to 50 calls for delivery. The price ranges from around INR 1000 to INR 2000 per order with maximum of around INR 5000. It was informed that they deliver only items they can carry on the two-wheeler.

When queried about the business, the source informed that right now they are not focused on profit but to help society in whatever way they can.

A representative of the two-wheeler taxi association of Dimapur informed that the DMC had given permission for the group to make deliveries. However, right now they are waiting for the Traffic department to give its consent too.
