Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Alleging unfair practice in recruitment process, the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has asked the state’s Public Works Department (PWD) not to conduct any departmental exams till the Staff Selection Board becomes fully functional.

In a statement issued on Monday, the association reminded that the Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland (CEAN) had, on February 7, requested the department to terminate “illegal backdoor appointees of SO grade-II, draftsmen and surveyor” within 30 days.

“Whereas, it has been found that the appeal letter/representation containing the grievances of the CEAN has not been acknowledged yet. The issue pertaining to the backdoor appointments of SO grade-II, surveyor and draftsmen is yet to be resolved and there has been no official notification from the side of the department regarding the same.

“It should be noted that the posts of nine SO grade-II, which was advertised vide notification NO. NPWD/E-IN-C/DRB/90/2019 on November 23, 2019, is for the existing vacancy and not as demanded by CEAN when the said representation was submitted,” read the statement.

Against this backdrop, the CTAN has appealed to the department to “kindly acknowledge the demand made by CEAN” and withhold any departmental exam.
