Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has ‘advised’ the State Government not to play with the sentiment of the people while employing its “aggressive attempt” to glorify a non-stakeholder and anti-Naga cult leader in the form of Gaidinliu’s Memorial Museum and erection of her statue.
In a press release, the NTC said, “The aggressive attempt of the Government of India and the State Government to glorify a non-stakeholder and anti-Naga cult leader in the form of Gaidinliu’s Memorial Museum and erection of her statue in our soil has created fury from all sections of our society, expressing their utter displeasure for imposing distasteful alien culture on the citizens of the state.”It stated that enough expressions and rejection to the most unpopular and disgusting move of the state government trying to portrait the image of the state and its people as worshipers of ‘cult leader’ and her practices of “human sacrifices” to please her undefined spirit.
In the event, the popular Government of the day so determined to go ahead with its anti-people agenda, it will be amounting to turning deaf ear to the sentiment of its citizens and miserably failing to read the writings on the wall, it added.
