DoNER official visits Zangkham

DIMAPUR — With the primary objective to facilitate implementation of SAMBHAV scheme, deputy secretary of the ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Nehjamang Simte, visited Zangkham village under Tizit sub-division in Mon district on October 18.

According to a DIPR report, the primary objective of his visit was to facilitate implementation of SAMBHAV. SAMBHAV is an innovative programme designed to empower the most disadvantaged communities to realise their full potential.

It aims to make the communities self-reliant by granting them equal access to fundamental services and opportunities. It added that SAMBHAV serves as a pilot programme, with a focus on achieving the saturation of 15 key services across 75 gram panchayats/ villages in 40 districts within the Northeastern region.

During the visit, Nehjamang Simte held an interaction with the public, which was attended by various stakeholders including community members and local authorities. The meeting provided an opportunity for open discussions on the impact and effectiveness of both central and state government schemes in the village.

During the meeting, Simte inquired about the extent to which those programmes have benefited the local community.

Report further stated that the visit was carried out in collaboration with officials from relevant line departments.

The interaction was held under the leadership of SDC of Tizit, Tumben P Tsanglao, and the state coordinator of North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd., Nribemo Lotha.
