DoNER minister to lay foundation stone for NERAMAC building in Guwahati
Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): The Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) In-charge, Dr. Jitendra Singh will lay the foundation stone of North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC) marketing complex in Guwahati today, Sep. 4, in the presence of Secretary North Eastern Council (NEC) Ram Muivah.
According to Press Information Bureau (PIB), NERAMAC marketing complex will be constructed in two phases at Six Mile, Guwahati. Block I (office-cum-market complex) and Block II (guest house) will be constructed at a cost of INR 13.15 crore and it will be funded by NEC under its scheme for ‘Marketing support Agri-horti produce in NE region.
The marketing complex will be developed as a ‘Green Building’ and one of the state-of-art land mark buildings in the region and have the provisions for an Agri-Horti retails hub wherein all the farmers and entrepreneurs of Northeast will get a common platform to showcase and sell their products and produces. It will also house Agri-horti related government departments under a single roof for better coordination and to provide single window facilitation centre to the farmers’ groups and entrepreneurs to avail government schemes, it said. The NERAMAC Limited, incorporated in 1982 as a central government enterprise, is a marketing organisation in the field of agri-horti sector of the north-eastern region.
Its registered office is in Guwahati operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
