Kohima, Oct. 22 (EMN): Phek district administration and the district-level centre for women (DLCW)- Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) jointly organised a sensitisation training programme for Dobashis (DB)as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) warriors at Dobashi Court in Phek town on October 21.
Speaking at the sensitisation programme, the BBBP nodal officer and SDO of Phek, Bhavani Sri, appreciated the DBs for their constant support and contribution towards the BBBP activities and programme conducted in the district. Reminding that DBs are the translators and link to the local community, she encouraged them to convey the message about the importance of girl child education at the grassroots, an update from the office of the deputy commissioner, Phek, stated.
On behalf of the DBs, the head DB, Chivohu Lohe, delivered a speech wherein he lauded the district administration and DLCW- MSK Phek. He stated that there has been a mass awareness about girl child education and its importance ever since the implementation of BBBP programme.
He further assured to support the district administration and DLCW-MSK Phek in order to implement the BBBP programme in the district.
The event was followed with distribution of BBBP logo T-shirts.
