Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has warned dealers of gutkas and other tobacco products, who are taking undue advantage by selling them at an exorbitant rate.
DNSU’s statement through its media cell stated that gutkas/tobaccos are not essential commodities and that selling of gutkas itself was strictly prohibited as per the directive of the central government during the lockdown.
DNSU was astonished to learn that those dealers stationed at Marwari Patti area, which has been sealed and declared as quarantine zone by the district administration, are supplying gutkas and tobacco products. The statement stated that the union had caught some retailers/wholesalers outside the zone, who have admitted that they are getting those items from inside the quarantine area.
DNSU has strongly warned those dealers/ suppliers/ retailers to abstain from such activities.
Meanwhile, the union has appealed to the district administration and police personnel on duty to strictly monitor such activities. It further stated that the union would be compelled to take its own course of action as deemed fit and proper if the authority fails to take corrective measures.
