Dimapur, March 30 (EMN): Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has appealed to all the school and college authorities within its jurisdiction to compulsorily implement wearing of traditional attire once or twice a month with effect from the month of April  to preserve and promote traditional and cultural values and also to keep intact with one’s identity in the constantly changing contemporary society.

In this regard, DNSU has appreciated certain schools and colleges for implementing the same.

A DNSU press release issued by its media cell has also appealed to the student community to avail school bus services in town areas to cut down the burden of traffic congestion. The union also urged the school and college authorities to provide bus services to the students.

Meanwhile, in compliance with the directive of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), DNSU has informed to continue extending non-cooperation movement against the Indian armed forces until justice is served to the victims of the Oting incidents and all other victims of the army excesses committed in the Naga homeland.

DNSU has directed its constituent units not to associate with the Indian army and paramilitary forces nor accept any form of humanitarian aid from them. It was of the view that such efforts cannot purchase the rights of the Naga people nor mitigate the effects of the evils perpetrated upon by those forces.

The union further appealed to all the citizens of Dimapur to hoist black flag as a mark of protest against the imposition of the draconian Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act 1958 in Naga homeland.
