DNSU urges Chief Minister to set up second govt. college in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has urged the chief minister to initiate the establishment of a new government college in Dimapur district, taking into account the annual surplus of students seeking admission to the existing Dimapur Government College.

In a representation to the chief minister on Friday, the DNSU said that setting up of a new government college in Dimapur would alleviate the pressing need for increased educational infrastructure in the district.

The student body also requested the chief minister to grant cabinet approval for immediate operationalisation of the Dimapur Government College science block, to unlock its “vast potential for academic excellence.”

“The Dimapur Government College science block, inaugurated with great fanfare in 2020, remains disappointingly non-functional, despite the initial enthusiasm and expectations of the citizens. This unacceptable state of affairs warrants immediate redressal,” the representation stated.
