Dmp police launches official website

A Staff Reporter Dimapur, November 24 After introducing smart policing system through Police Commissionerate, Dimapur police today launched its website to get more people oriented. Director General of Police Nagaland L.L.Doungel, IPS launched the official website- www.dimapurpolice.in at a function held in the office of the Commissioner of Police. Congratulating the units and its officers on the occasion, Doungel said, the efforts behind the launch of the website reflected the endeavor of police to keep pace with the changing times when information and technology have become integral components. “The information and services provided through the website will act as force multiplier for the department and at the same time make the services of the police to the citizens more convenient” said Doungel. He said, the launch of the website shows that the department is not short of talented and capable officers. Remarking the police units to be the ‘Pick of the lots’, he said, Dimapur a ‘mixed’ city where a lot needs to be done. More on page 5 Doungel urged upon the officers of the units to continue to strive for the security of the citizens and to live up to the expectation of the department. “The launch of the website is a major leap, marking the entry of the Dimapur police in providing services through digital information” said Commissioner of Police, Liremo Tsopoe Lotha, IPS. Emphasizing on the need for more interface between the public and the police, Liremo said the website is one such platform aimed at providing information and services to the citizens. The project was conceived two months back when the unit started with a twitter account and a facebook page which was received by the people with tremendous response. ACP (Special Branch) Kilemtoshi, the officer behind the creation of the website made a brief presentation on the features of the website. The website features general information of the Dimapur police, maps of the zones and divisions, profiles and google maps, location of police stations and traffic control, directory of the officers etc. The website also offers services like downloading of various forms and also has a Contact Us form through which information or queries can be sought from the police. This service will maintain the confidentiality of the individual if desired. The website is also secured by a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate which provides encrypted protection.
