DMA SSA Kohima felicitates Swachh Pakhwada contest winners

Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): A prize distribution ceremony of Swachh Pakhwada (cleanliness and sanitation) competition, conducted under Kohima district was held on Friday, Sep. 15. Speaking at the programme, SDO(C) Kohima Zhoi Lohe asked the students and the concerned school authorities to continue the cleanliness mission to keep the school and its surroundings in order. He also stressed on the need to enhance the cleanliness activities and make Nagaland a clean state. SDEO Tseminyu, Orenponi Lotha also spoke during the function. A total cash award of Rs. 32,000 was given away to the winners for various competitions. In toilet cleaning competition, GMS Logwesunyu, GPS Tsiepfü-Tsiepfhe and GPS Dzükhwekie were adjudged in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In essay writing contest, Vimeyienu Kulnu of GMS Jakhama A was placed in the 1st place while Kuakhailiu of GHS Nerhema (Nerhe Model) and Gloria Kath of GHS Chunlikha in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. In letter writing competition Nourhetuo Chase of GHS Rüsoma, Thejavinuo Kiwe of GHS New Market, and Wangshai of GMS K. Khel Viswema were announced as winners and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively. The wiiners of the overall performance of schools were GMS Tesophenyu Upper in 1st, GHS Tasazhu in 2nd and GMS D. Khel Kohima in 3rd position. The programme was held under the aegis of DMA, SSA, Kohima from September 1 to the 15th with the participation of 187 government schools under Kohima district. Apart from competitions, the 15 day long activities also witnessed administration of pledge to maintain cleanliness in the school premises, conduct of social work, planting saplings in schools, making innovative dustbins, observation of hand wash day, cleaning community water sources, SMC/Parents meeting on school cleanliness, cleaning of water storage tanks in schools and village are among others.
