Dimapur, Aug.14 (EMN): The District Legal Services Authority, Wokha, organised a training programme for para legal volunteers (PLVs) at DC conference hall, Wokha, on August 13 and 14.
A WDLSA press release informed that 21 PLVs were trained on “the role and workings of para legal” and how to “provide legal services and awareness to the masses with juvenile justice system, NALSA schemes, women and law, Legal Services Authority Act 1987, benefits of Lok Adalats and implementation of various government schemes.”
Nino Iralu, District and Sessions Judge cum chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Wokha, while delivering the keynote address, encouraged the PLVs “to work in close tandem with the legal services institution and the government departments in ameliorating the lot of poor and disadvantages sections of the society,” the statement read.
Mhathung Tsanglao, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, in his exhortation, asked the PLVs to “work as ambassadors of peace in the society, working in direction to empower the weak, underprivileged and marginalised sections of the society.”
