Diphu, May 14 (EMN): District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Diphu, Karbi Anglong organised a National Lok Adalat at Karbi Anglong District Judiciary Campus in Diphu on Saturday.
2494 pre-litigation cases were taken up and 138 cases were disposed of on Saturday. The settlement amount collected was INR 15, 00,008. Another 647 court cases were also taken up and 140 cases disposed of. The settlement amount collected was INR 3, 71,000.
It may be mentioned that Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms, where disputes or cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled or compromised amicably.
