(DIPR)[/caption] Dimapur, Aug. 15 (EMN): Arming the Nagaland Armed Police with more facilities to curb criminal activities along highways and interior police stations in the districts, the Nagaland government on Wednesday handed over 14 patrol vehicles, all of the model Maruti Gypsy, to the district enforcement units. It was during the commemoration of the 72nd Independence Day in Dimapur that Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton inaugurated the facility by flagging off the fleet of vehicles. The vehicles are for highway patrolling in Kohima and Dimapur, besides for interior police stations in other districts. It was informed that two vehicles each were allotted to Kohima and Dimapur, while the other ten were for the other districts. Patton handed the keys to representatives from the districts. Besides inspecting the parade contingent, Patton inaugurated exhibition and sale stalls, and attended cultural events during the programme.
