Districts conduct 2nd phase training for polling personnel

DIMAPUR — The office of the deputy commissioner (DC) and district election officer (DEO), Mokokchung, conducted the second phase training for polling personnel for the upcoming Lok Sabha election at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School in Mokokchung town on Friday.

DC and DEO, Thsuvisie Phoji, welcomed all presiding officers and first polling officers and provided them with comprehensive guidance on the conduct of the Lok Sabha election, a DIPR report stated.

Emphasising the significance of the election as a cornerstone of democracy, Phoji reminded the attendees of their duty as government employees to actively participate in the monumental exercise and to commit themselves to ensuring a fair and peaceful electoral process.

The office of the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and district election officer (DEO) in Pughoboto also conducted the second phase training for polling personnel consisting of presiding officers and polling officers at town hall and DB hall in Pughoboto town on Friday.

Master trainers N Thungbemo Humtsoe and Khuvili Wotsa trained the polling personnel on different polling and voting procedures, while hands-on training on EVMs/ VVPATs setup and connections and other poll related matters were taken up by master trainers Esther and Khekavi Kinny.

The third phase of training would be held on April 14.
