District welfare office building inaugurated in Mon

DIMAPUR — The secretary of Social Welfare department, Martha R Ritse, on January 9 inaugurated the district welfare office building in Mon town in the presence of the director of Social Welfare department, Tosheli Zhimomi, and deputy commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Martha expressed her happiness on the successful completion of the DWO office building and urged the officers and staff to utilise the facility in serving the downtrodden and vulnerable section of the society.

A DIPR report stated that Tosheli also exhorted the officers and staff to be sincere in their assigned duties, while Ajit Kumar congratulated the department for the successful completion of the office building and expressed his belief that the facility would enhance the productivity of the officers and staff.

It stated that the building was dedicated by Rev. Chemyuh, executive secretary of KBBB, Mon, while the inaugural programme was chaired by CDPO of Phomching, Khonbeni Jami, and the welcome address was delivered by DWO of Mon, T Yanlem.

During the programmme, a song was presented by members of Mon District Disabled People Society, while the report on construction of the building was presented by the engineering wing and the vote of thanks was delivered by DPO of ICDS, Mon, Tsalito Sangtam.

Report stated that prior to the inauguration of office building, a coordination meeting was held on January 8, which was attended by the director and senior officers of Social Welfare department. During the meeting, the director exhorted the officers and staff to be sincere in their duties and to be present in their place of posting. They were also apprised on the various programmes under the department such as PMMVY, scheme for adolescence girls (SAG) etc.

They were further urged to leave no stone unturned in providing the various services to the beneficiaries.
