District-level youth parliament held in Tuensang

DIMAPUR — A district-level neighbourhood youth parliament was held at Town Hall in Tuensang on Tuesday. The event was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Tuensang, in collaboration with the district administration of Tuensang.

According to a DIPR report, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, ADC Tuensang, emphasised the significance of youth parliaments in educating youths about the functioning of parliaments.

He stated that elected members represent the people and they have the right to know how they function. He also encouraged students not only to criticise the leaders but also to contribute to the functioning of the government by choosing capable candidates and participating in clean elections. The ADC also administered a clean election pledge.
