District-level public hearing held in Phek

Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): The Rural Development establishment of Phek district conducted a social audit, a public hearing, on July 19 at the DRDA conference hall with village development boards (VDB) of Phek proper and Meluri block.
The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates informing about the programme.

Addressing the members, the DRDA’s project director Keyirangding Hegui advised the villagers to use funds judiciously. He urged them to maintain transparency. He was stated to have suggested publicizing among the public the functions of village functionaries.

The project director also insisted on strict documentation concerning VDB funds.
Additional deputy commissioner, Akum, no surname given, also spoke during the occasion. The officer was stated to have appreciated the committees for ‘taking the work in the right direction.’

Members of the village development boards in Phek and Meluri attended the audit, the updates stated.
