District Hospital Mon to get equipment worth INR 1.64 crore

Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): With the initiative of Mon district administration, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Foundation would donate medical equipment worth approximately INR 1.64 crore to the District Hospital, Mon.

The deputy commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, stated that a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been executed between REC Foundation, District Hospital Mon and the deputy commissioner of Mon. He added that the procurement of medical equipment was to strengthen healthcare services at the District Hospital.

The DC informed that the project would be fully funded by REC Foundation under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme. He added that a project implementation committee consisting of representatives from REC Foundation, doctors from District Hospital Mon and officers from the district administration has been constituted to oversee the implementation of the project.

The DC stated that the project implementation committee, after due deliberation with the doctors of the District Hospital, has finalised procurement and installation of 49 different advanced medical equipment.

Meanwhile, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has also agreed to donate medical equipment worth approximately INR 40 lakh to the community health centres (CHC) at Aboi and Tobu in Mon district.

Thavaseelan stated that a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been executed between IOC Limited, office of the deputy commissioner, Mon, and the district coordination committee represented by the chief medical officer (CMO), Mon. The procurement of medical equipment was to strengthen healthcare services at the two community health centres, Thavaseelan stated.

He informed that the project would be fully funded by IOC as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme, while the office of the deputy commissioner and the district coordination committee would oversee the implementation of the project.

According to the MOA, an ECG machine, haematology analyser, biochemistry analyser, dental x-ray and a portable x-ray machine with digital CR system would be provided to CHC Aboi and CHC Tobu.

Informing that an open tender for both the projects would be shortly published by the office of the deputy commissioner, Mon, Thavaseekan has asked any interested party to get a copy of the tender from the office or on the official district website: https://www.mon.nic.in.
