DIMAPUR — The Niuland District GB’s Association (NDGBA) inspected the ongoing road repair along the Niuland–Ghotovi route on October 17 and commended the government of Nagaland for addressing one of the region’s long-pending infrastructure needs.

According to an update, during the site visit, NDGBA representatives expressed appreciation to the chief minister, the minister for Road and Bridges, the Public Works Department, and others engaged in the project.

The association lauded the “visible progress” and renewed sense of hope among residents after nearly two decades of waiting for the road to be repaired. The NDGBA emphasised optimism and gratitude for the development effort.

A crucial part of the British-era Bokajan road, the Niuland–Ghotovi stretch connects key villages including Hovishe, Rengma, and Angami areas, linking onwards to Kohima, the state capital.

It said that with the roadwork now steadily advancing, the NDGBA urged villagers and commuters to extend full cooperation to the executing department to ensure the project’s timely completion.

The association also expressed hope that the government would proceed quickly with the black-topping stage to ensure durable road quality and improved connectivity for the region’s communities.
