Dimapur, November 4: Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) has successfully conducted district games for disabled 2016 at five districts namely Dimapur, Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Kohima, Wokha.
SON also had participated in National Championship Athletics from October 21 to 26 at Jaipur, Rajasthan with a team of 8 special athletes. The team have won 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. The athletes competed in Races, Rally, Shot-put and Soft Ball throw. The team was led by coach Nungsangmongla and coach Nungshijungba, a press release stated.
Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) is a charity organisation for the development of Persons with disabilities through the medium of sports and games. Son is a nodal agent of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India and Special Olympics Bharat.
