EMN Dimapur, November 3 Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee today claimed that it has defended the principles of the party and directives of AICC and that it will continue to do so. Referring to an article on State Congress delegates at Delhi, the media cell NPCC in a statement said, they were not State Congress delegates but disobedient Congress members. “In accordance to the 10 Point Modalities agreed with Indira Gandhi, President, AICC, in presence of A.R. Antulay, General Secretary AICC; Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee has its own Constitution in the spirit of “National in outlook and regional in content.” We have continued to function under the spirit and shall continue to uphold. Therefore, if there is any desire to settle, Kohima is the right place and not Delhi.” The statement said, the dispute is between those who uphold the objectives of the NPCC Constitution, which is for the well-being and advancement of the people by peaceful means through the principles of socialism, secularism and democracy. “We have same flag and symbol and to which we have assured to bear true faith and allegiance and those that intermingle with the objectives of communalism and intolerance.” Stating that Congress has made its stand clear that it cannot be a partner of BJP, the NPCC said, “When the MLAs did not pay attention to the directives, AICC was left with no option but to suspend them on 9thMay 2015. We have gone slow thinking good sense will prevail. Unfortunately, leniency was taken as weakness. Thereafter, AICC decided to file disqualification petition and the petition was filed on 4th Sept 2015.” “Disciplinary actions were necessitated for deliberately disregarding and disobeying orders passed by superior Committee and for carrying propaganda against the NPCC Executive Committee and NPCC President in a way calculated to lower the prestige and also for having failed to function in terms of Constitution and directions. They have also continued to organize support for defected MLAs and demanded revocation of Suspension Orders and withdrawal of disqualification petition. They further went on to say that they will not co-operate with the Congress. They also have behaved improperly on 24th Sept 2015 in the NPCC delegates meeting in front of Gen Secy AICC and Secy AICC. They went on to nail the door to NPCC President’s Office Chamber and held an unauthorized meeting in the premises of Congress Bhavan with hired men on 16th Oct 2015. They have submitted unfounded wild allegations to Congress President and Vice President AICC against NPCC President and alleged that the NPCC Executive Committee is a private Executive Committee. Separate legal notice has also been issued to H. Chuba Chang.” “NPCC has nothing against any person. It has defended the principles of the party and directives of AICC and it will continue to do so. It is a question of faith to the principles of the Congress party. Those that do not believe in the principles of Congress are free to resign and leave Congress but they cannot use the name ‘Congress’ and be a partner of BJP. Wild allegations without evidences are not the habits of Congress. Congress has given accountable leadership in the past. We will not allow anyone to dilute. We shall enforce the Constitution of NPCC and the Rules framed therein without prejudice.”
