MP Jamir launches ATMA's 5-Year Plan vision document

MOKOKCHUNG — The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Mokokchung on July 13.
Chairing the meeting, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha and DISHA Chairperson for Nagaland, S Supongmeren Jamir, stressed the importance of collaborative efforts, stronger monitoring mechanisms, and enhanced service delivery while reviewing the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) and ongoing development projects across the district.
Jamir highlighted that the primary goal of the meeting was to evaluate the performance of various departments, assess their achievements, identify bottlenecks, and devise strategies to accelerate district-level development.
Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation and support extended by all departments in advancing developmental initiatives.
The committee reviewed the decisions taken during the previous DISHA meeting held on June 19, 2025.
Follow-up action reports were presented by the departments of Rural Development, Public Health Engineering, Social Welfare, and Education, with members examining the status of implementation against earlier resolutions.

Officials from the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Agriculture and Allied departments, Horticulture, Soil and Water Conservation, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, and BSNL Mokokchung delivered detailed PowerPoint presentations showcasing progress on centrally sponsored schemes in their respective sectors.
The BSNL representatives also provided an update on the status of existing 4G towers in the district and the nine new sites being developed under the 4G Saturation Project of the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) initiative.
During the meeting, Jamir formally launched a ‘5-Year Plan’ vision document published by ATMA Mokokchung.
Following the presentations, Jamir and Deputy Commissioner Verma conducted a department-wise review of scheme implementation.
They sought clarifications on gaps and incomplete data, directing concerned officials to submit updated statistics and additional information where necessary.
The committee deliberated on various ongoing projects, exchanged ideas on overcoming implementation challenges, and passed resolutions aimed at resolving key obstacles.
The MP also interacted with departmental officials, reviewed the progress of multiple government schemes, and issued directives to ensure better coordination, timely execution, and effective delivery of benefits to the public.
