Disclosure of Covid-19 patients' identity punishable offense — DC Noklak

Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): The deputy commissioner (DC) of Noklak district, Reny Wilfred, said that disclosure of the identity of Covid-19 patients in any forms is a punishable offense.

The DC in a circular on August 26, issued through DIPR, stated that it is the bounden duty of every citizen to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus disease and to prevent stigmatisation of Covid-19 infected patients.

He informed that disclosure of identity, leading to stigmatisation and discrimination of patients by any individual, organisation shall be liable to prosecution as per relevant section of the law.
