Directorate of Technical Education Kohima organises a two-day Faculty Development Programme focusing on NEP 2020, AI tools, and outcome-based pedagogy with 93 participants.

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Kohima, organised a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) at the Directorate’s conference hall, Kohima, on January 22 and 23.
According to a DIPR report, the programme witnessed 93 participants.
The resource persons for the programme were Dr. Khwaja M Rafi, director, Mewat Engineering College, HWB, Government of Haryana; Dr. Sukanta Kumar Naskar, Technical Education and Management National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research, Kolkata; Dr. Sonam Palden, principal, Advanced Technical Training Centre, Sikkim; and Zakie Rheicha, state coordinator for NeGD, MeiTY.
The technical sessions included interactive insights on ICT-enabled outcome-based pedagogy, the NEP 2020 curriculum and employability, quality assurance, and experiential, learner-centric outcome-based learning approaches. It also covered SMART objectives in education, training students to solve unknown and unstructured problems, the use of emerging technologies, particularly AI tools, and a hands-on session on the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and APAAR ID.

The FDP also witnessed sessions on examination systems, work culture and ethics, building trust among peers and higher-ups, time and conflict management, strategic management and planning, and guidance to faculties from experiences.
During the valedictory session, Vipulhou Lhoungu, director of Technical Education, thanked the resource persons and delegates for their participation. He challenged the participants to achieve a fruitful outcome through the implementation of the various pedagogy approaches and upskilling on emerging technologies in the polytechnics.
