Diphu, July 19 (EMN): With an aim to promote local farmers and organic products, like-minded youths of Diphu town opened an organic store in Karbi Anglong. The name of the store is ‘The Happy Farmer’ located along Diphu Sadar Thana road.
Speaking to journalists, one of the store members said, ‘We just opened our organic store, it’s a first of its kind in Diphu town and in Karbi Anglong as well. We sell and supply organic vegetables, fruits, organic jams, pickles, honey, ginger and garlic powder and many more. We encourage local farmers to grow more organic vegetables and fruits. We will directly buy the items from them and sell them in our store’.
Engleng also said that they might extend their venture and export the local products to other states in the near future if circumstances permit. He sought the support and cooperation of the public to initiate further.
Meanwhile, the store was inaugurated by J R Barman, wife of KAAC’s EM, Pradeep Rongpi. The store is run by four youths of Diphu town.
