Diphu, Oct.4 (EMN): Diphu Press Club (DPC) on Monday felicitated the signatories of six armed organisations, who signed the Karbi Peace Accord during its general meeting at Central Range Forest IB.
Each of the signatories received Karbi Poho (Karbi traditional turban) as a token of gratitude and respect.
The former general secretary of UPLA, Longki Bey said that the people of Karbi Anglong had accepted the peace accord and it will usher in peace and development in the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. He also said that there is time for implementation of the Peace Accord. Therefore, he urged the organisations and individuals dissatisfied with the Peace Accord to come forward and sit together for discussion to clear their doubts.
'The Peace Accord is for the people of Karbi Anglong with this peace accord, there will be development in the district', he added.
