Dimasa students’ summer camp concludes

Dimapur, July 16 (EMN): A 7-day summer camp organised by the Dimasa Students’ Union of Bamunpukhuri village which was held from July 7 has concluded. The event was conducted with the theme “Bloom where you are planted,” a press release from the organisers informed on Sunday. During the closing ceremony, L Leyang, executive engineer, advised the students that ‘every year there should be a career guidance program in every nooks and corners of villages.’ He said if the educated people take up such activities, ‘it will have a great impact on the society and this kind of educational programs should be continued.’ Munuhor Thaosen, general secretary of the Dimasa Public Organisation Nagaland, attended the program as guest of honour. “This kind of opportunities we never received when we were kids. In earlier days, it was all about bookish knowledge but this program includes all the activities,” he was quoted in the press release as having said during the event. Performances depicting the Dimasa culture were a highlight of the event. They were presented by the students, the press release informed.
